North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has said his country is ready to prevent any nuclear war and face a US military strike.
Kim Jong-un said these things in a speech given yesterday local time on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the agreement signed to end the Korean War. At that time, criticizing the new president of South Korea, he said that Seoul has created a war situation.
Incidentally, this is the first time Kim has commented on the new president of South Korea.
The Korean War was fought from 1950-1953. On July 27, 1953, an armistice agreement was signed between North Korea and China by United Nations forces led by the United States, and the armistice came into effect. North Korea celebrates the day as 'Victory to the Fatherland'.
In the speech, Kim Jong-un said, 'Our armed forces are fully prepared to deal with any critical situation. Ready for any mission by properly mobilizing our maximum forces with fidelity even to prevent nuclear war.'
Kim Jong-un's comments came after senior officials in Seoul and Washington said North Korea had completed preparations to conduct its first nuclear weapons test since 2017.
