Watch>> Kambosos vs Haney
Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr. will run it back with all four lightweight titles at stake.
It's not the fight Devin Haney wanted. Still, it's the one he's obligated to take as the undisputed lightweight champion puts all IBF, WBA (super), WBC, and WBO belts on the line Saturday against George Kambosos Jr. from Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.
Haney and Kambosos first tangled, also in Melbourne, in front of 41,129 fans at the beginning of June. Haney neutralized Kambosos and earned a clear unanimous decision victory to become the first four-belt 135-pound champion.
There was an immediate rematch clause if Haney beat Kambosos. Despite fans not having much of an appetite for a sequel, Kambosos invoked the clause, and the fight goes down on Saturday.
"The Dream" plans on doing the same thing to Kambosos that he did a little more than four months ago.
“George Kambosos is quiet right now like he should have been before our first fight. Haney said in a statement when the fight was first announced.
“I’m expecting a hungry and determined Kambosos. I will be prepared for any adjustment he brings. This is a great opportunity to gain more Aussie fans and add to my legacy.”
Kambosos has kept a low profile as he looks to regain his titles.
“I am looking forward to October 16th (Oct. 15 in the United States) at Rod Laver Arena, and that’s where I will do my talking. Inside the ring," Kambosos said.

DEVIN HANEY VS. GEORGE KAMBOSOS JR. 2 FIGHT CARD

Jason Moloney vs. Nawaphon Kaikanha; WBC Bantamweight eliminator
Andrew Moloney vs. Norbelto Jimenez; Junior Bantamweights
Cherneka Johnson vs. Susie Ramadan for Johnson’s IBF Women’s Junior Featherweight title
Four months on from their first fight, Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr face each other for a second time in an undisputed lightweight bout.
Haney proved far too good at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne back in June, all three judges scoring it comfortably in his favour, but Kambosos’ rematch clause means that the American returns to Australia having to do it all over again.
His WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts are on the line, and the 23-year-old knows another win will leave him free to pursue a number of massive fights in what is arguably the strongest division in the sport.
Kambosos cannot be discounted though, as he proved when taking the belts off Teofimo Lopez a year ago, and he goes into the fight with everything on the line after stating he will step away from boxing if he loses again. Win though, and he’ll be at the very top of the sport.
